Prohousing Designation informational in-person meeting

The City of Bakersfield is applying for Prohousing Designation from the California Department of Housing and Community Development . The City invites the community to review and comment on its draft Prohousing Designation Program application starting Wednesday, Oct. 21. The 30-day public comment period runs through Friday, Nov. 20 . A Prohousing Designation from HCD would make the City eligible for Prohousing Incentive Program funds that would support the creation and preservation of affordable housing in Bakersfield. It also makes the City and local developers more competitive when applying for other investment programs such as affordable housing funds, infill grants, Transformative Climate Communities monies and more. The City will also host an informational in-person meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2 for anyone interested in learning more.
