Experience the Bakersfield Sound: Boots, Books and Buck Owens

Step back in time and dive into the twangy, energetic world of the Bakersfield Sound! Kids ages 6–12 will get hands-on with the music that made stars like Buck Owens famous. Sing along to classic Buck Owens tunes, boot-scoot to the Bakersfield Sound, and enjoy readings from the book Freight Train Running: A Biography of Buck Owens by Linda Stacey. This special event hosted by local history preservationist, Di Sharman, will help kids discover the musicians that shaped this iconic sound through exploring the lyrics and rhythm of country music's most exciting area!
