Bakersfield sponsors of the World Peace Day ceremony invite the public to attend the 3rd annual Peace Day event on September 21, 2026, at The Gardens at Mill Creek Linear Park. The one-hour event is free to the public and will feature Mayor Goh, Councilman Gonzales, BSCPC President Regina Pryor, Bakersfield North Rotary President Jenifer VanAlstein, and Dr. Portia Choi, Honorary Kern County Poet Laureate (2026–2027). The celebration will include music by the Kern River Brass, poetry, and the ringing of Bells for Peace. The 2026 Global Peace Day theme is “Invest in Peace—For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”
