Get ready for an evening with The Bard at the 42nd Annual Kern Shakespeare Festival which will run October 1–10, 2026, in the Edward Simonsen Indoor Theater at Bakersfield College. Tickets are available at bit.ly/bcartstix for $10–$15. The festival will feature alternating productions of two of Shakespeare's most beloved plays: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oct. 1–9): Directed by Brian Sivesind, this zany comedy is a crowd-pleasing romp full of fairies, magic potions, and romance. Titus Andronicus (Oct. 2–10): Co-directed by Cody Ganger, Jesse Magdaleno, and Steph Hankinson, Shakespeare's bloodiest tragedy returns for the first time in 20 years. Starring festival founder Randall Messick, this intense, epic tale of Roman political vengeance contains mature themes and graphic violence. Check the website for dates and times!
